Today, 70 years ago, several thousands of young men (perhaps kids for some) made their last trip of their lives to Omaha beach in Normandy, the first battle of an operation that would change the worlds history: D-Day. 4 out of very 10 soldiers died in the first 2 hours as many critical elements of the operation failed, an appauling number that seemed to codemn operation Overlord to a more than certain fate. Yet, as we all know, this did not happen. Coincidentally I just watched a very good documentary on this epic battle just a few days ago, which Im sharing with you below- I highly recommend it. This is in memory of all those brave soldiers.
