Today Don Patterson was checking one of the fire extinguishers from our office that was 20 years old which we had taken out of service. He went outside to test it to see if it still worked and was surprised when it did. This is a great reminder to all of us to check our own fire extinguishers at home and even at work. As a rule of thumb you should check fire extinguishers annually. There are many different kinds of extinguishers so make sure to read the manufacturers instructions to know when to replace them.
