Today I finished my civic duty by participating in the Superior Court of California County of Orange trial juror selection. As we were being selected the judge came out to thank everyone for volunteering, volunteering! saying that it was our civic duty, and yes it is our civic duty but !?? I wanted to stand up and scream to the judge about the statement from the California CCP section 209 which states anyone who fails to respond as directed and be excused from attendance, maybe found in contempt of court, punished by fine, incarceration up to five days or both volunteer, volunteer !! Ha ha ha see them next year ;)
