Today, I had a Drs appt. It was the Drs appt that assuredly corrected my delusion of eternal youth. It confronted me with the truth; I am getting old. Everyone eventually experiences this Drs appt if they live to middle age. And today was my turn. It wasnt so bad. Im going to live ... for a good long while. I will take a pill or two every day for the rest of my life. And then, someday, like billions before me, I will die. Its been a damn good life so far. Ive been one lucky child of God. There is lots more of it to come. Thank you Peggy Blakemore for setting a fine example, and Sue Baggett Spears for teaching me the skills that have made today one of peaceful acceptance. Peace
