Today I saw something happen in our shop that I would have never believed could happen. Its is really heartbreaking to me and I have decided that this is my last year tattooing. We would all like to be able to say that we have above standard shops and that we go the extra mile for our customers. Sadly, sometimes this does not occur as often as it should because it happened in mine right before my eyes. A very nice couple came in seeking a tattoo because the young mans father has just passed. The young man wanted some lettering that his father had written and he truly only had $60. I hope most people can understand living on a budget and trying to keep funds balanced to make it through the week. My tattooist would not do the tattoo for $60 even after clearly noticing the young man was very distressed. Are there some tattooists that just dont care or who cant feel for someone s pain and suffering? Have all tattooists forgotten that without our customers we wouldnt have that nice car or house, we wouldnt be able to take out our girlfriend who only dates us because she s into tattoos? Where did all the wonderful tattooists go? I know for a fact that I am not the only dinosaur left because I know many hard working, loving and caring tattooists. This young man did get his tattoo and it didnt cost him a dime. I wish I could save everybody from this type of experience and from the bottom of my heart I am so sorry to this young man and his wife. No One should be treated like their parent didnt matter. Today is the first time I have been ashamed to own Crown & Anchor. Bless all of you who have been through this experience! RITA
