Today I was out with the girls, and as we approached a crosswalk, I noticed a debit card on the pavement. I read the name on the card, and asked the people in the general area if any of them were named Robin and missing a debit card to no avail, so I put the card in my pocket. Later on, I drove out to Key Bank, and when I got to the counter, I told the teller about finding the card on the street, and gave it to her. The teller and two customers each told me what a great thing Id done, and how much it surprised them. At least three different people told me, Most people wouldnt have done that. I cant believe that this is true, and if it is, its truly sad commentary. It shouldnt be shocking that a person who found a strangers debit card on the sidewalk took that card to a bank branch and turned it in, rather than taking it to Wal-Mart and turning it into expensive electronic gadgets or some such nonsense.
