Today I went to Metolino on Stoke Newington Road (top end, nearly the High St) and had an americano and a croissant. The coffee was just right, a single shot topped up to just the right size cup, good flavour. Pastry a bit dry, slightly overbaked but edible, would have been better with jam. Service friendly. Facing the street good for people watching: Poirot noticed the couple hed been following earlier no longer had a bike with them, and concluded they had been across the road to get it mended. Also saw someone I genuinely needed to dash out and say hello to because I hadnt returned a phone call. Unfortunately being close to the open door I was also close to the outside smokers. Music okay Turkish and later some Billie Holiday, speakers only at back of room so not obtrusive and I got some work done. I cant remember the total but the coffee was £1.50.
