Today, Senator Harkin was joined by ten of his Capitol Hill colleagues to release an investigative report showing a dramatic increase in the marketing of electronic cigarettes—or e-cigarettes—to children and teenagers. Using extensive social media outreach, sponsorship of sports events and music festivals, TV and radio marketing, and fruit and candy flavors, e-cigarette makers—many of whom also make traditional cigarettes—are investing millions to create a new generation of nicotine addicts.
