Today an old man came in to work to get 4 new tyres on his car, and I started chatting to him a bit as I was working. He told me that yesterday he had gotten a flat tyre, and if it wasnt for the good samaritan that stopped to put his spare on for him that he would have still been stuck there. That was when he looked up at me with the saddest look in his eyes and said I didnt realise that I had gotten so old and so weak, so quickly. Call me what you want, but it truly crushed me and nearly brought me to tears, and that was the moment I realised that I am terrified of growing old and weak. I am so grateful to be a young, able bodied man, and I certainly wont be taking that for granted. Weve only got one life, make the most of it.
