Transforming communities ONE Child at a Time Sheilah Clarke-Ekong, Ph.D., (aka Dr. E) is an Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology, Sociology and Languages and a Research Fellow in the UMSL Center for International Studies and Programs. Her current research focuses on the alignments of ritual practice in contemporary African society, and working with young South African women scholars in pursuit of their doctorate degrees. When the Rain Clouds Clear: African Women on the Move Jeff Moore, Ph.D., Pastor, Webster Groves Christian Church, an ordained United Church of Christ Minister with partner status in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), whose PhD is from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The Importance of Cross-Cultural Respect and Cooperation in the Midst of the HIV and AIDS Pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa Joya Uraizee, Ph.D., whose research interests include postcolonial women writers and political fiction, and is currently working on a book length analysis of the aesthetics and politics of representing the voices of child soldiers in memoirs, fiction, and film. Dr. Uraizee was a Fulbright fellow in South Africa in 2008. Peace Building Through Film and Literature: South Africa and Uganda. John Works, Ph.D., a retired UM-St. Louis professor of history who taught African and Islamic history.
