Today being a New Yorker means so much more to me than any other day (and Im pretty damn proud of my home state) but today is the day where an entirely diverse population of people all became brothers and sisters, mourning together over the loss of loved ones, friends, family, and just hoping for a safe return of all those we knew who went to help in the wreckage. Were known for people who are pretty rude, and judgmental, and loud. But we came together, no two people were different, and everyone respected the silence, and I will always remember the way we were all the same for once and I will always hold that dear to me. Im proud to be a New Yorker, and no matter how much time passes, and how many different states I live in, I will always be one at heart.
