Today in Rock History, December 4, 1976: Kiss peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with “Beth” which was their first top ten single in the U.S. The song was originally released on their 1976 album, Destroyer. It was named #3 in VH1s 25 Greatest Power Ballads. The song was sung by drummer Peter Criss. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley reportedly did not want Beth on the album because it was not a typical Kiss song. Here’s a live performance. https://youtube/watch?v=KbtO_Ayjw0M
