(Today) is Gold Star Wives Day. This day recognizes and brings awareness to the sacrifices of our spouses who courageously carry the banner of freedom that their fallen Soldiers gave their lives for. On behalf of the entire Fort Bragg community, Command Sgt. Maj. Vimoto and I would like to extend a special thank you to all of our surviving spouses. These Families will always be a vital part of our Fort Bragg and Army Family. We will always embrace them and be eternally grateful for their sacrifice and service. ... as you go about your business, please take note of the many named buildings, parks and roadways on Fort Bragg. Many are named for battles and others are named for fallen heroes. This Saturday, the 69th anniversary of the first meeting of Gold Star Wives, please pause to remember the battles, remember the fallen and most of all remember the Families who are left to carry on. - Lt.
