Today is black Friday, and in a show of solidarity to my fellow worker I am not going to do any shopping today. Today, the workers in retail are heroically toiling and slaving away for the indulgence of the consumer. Yet, they dont get much recognition or appreciation for having to do what they are doing today. I believe these workers deserve the same opportunity to enjoy the holiday weekend and spend it with their families as much as the next person does. Black Friday has become ridiculous, stores opening earlier and earlier, people even getting killed, and for what? Material goods? This isnt life people, this is just stuff! Life is your friends, your family, people who love you! Or a cause you may believe in! Now, think about the incredible stress these laborers are enduring today and instead of material goods, think about them today and the job they do. Yesterday was thanksgiving, well give thanks and appreciation to all these hard working folks in retail. Remember them. Honor and glory to our homeland, the United States of America!
