Today is exactly 24 year ago that Brian and I started dating....dont try and guess my age!! I said DONT!!! Our lives changed 6 1/2 year ago when he first got sick. Before that, we were on schedule to achieve every dream/goal we had. All that was left was to finish remodeling the home and then adopt several kids. Instead, he got sick, stopped working, we had Bevin, and then eventually Izaiah. Things did not turn out exactly how we planned: Brian is home with the kids on disability, I am running a very successful business, we have a biological son that we never thought we would have and changed our world, and finally got approved to adopt the child we knew that would always come to us. NO: its not how we planned, but so much more. With that being said: Next July 4th we will be married for 15 years and October we will be together for 25 years. So celebrate how much we are grateful for, rather than what we lost these past 6 years....I think Brian and I should renew our vows on the 25th anniversary of dating, not being married, because without dating and setting those initial goals, we would not be here today!! Yes, you are all to hold us to this during the craziness we call a cancer journey!!! Saying I do again with one son on each side of us!!! I say that is near PERFECT!!!!!
