Today is our 4th anniversary since moving from Denver to Seattle. What a day it was. I spent it at the #LifeYouWantSEA Oprah Winfrey event with special friends, new friends, and some of the most motivational, bright-light thought leaders Ive ever heard. I especially enjoyed Elizabeth Gilbert; her personal story, so ordinary and wonderful, is a beautiful reminder that change, though often painful, can bring about our biggest blessings. And, I cant speak highly enough of Rob Bell. There were precious few moments in which my tears did not fall at the impact of his hopeful and fertile words. I feel as if Ive drawn deep from a well after an infinite soul drought. Im grateful. Im grateful for my life. Im grateful for the love I have, receive, give. Im grateful that, for better or worse, I love, accept, and esteem myself. Ive also had my eyes opened to the areas of my life where I need to grow, accept responsibility for my choices, tell myself the truth, practice discipline, and extend myself forgiveness. I would be remiss to not mention Oprah herself. She told the familiar story of her humble origins and recounted those major decisions in her life that ultimately led her to the very public, influential and exceptional platform weve all witness her ascend. What an inspiration. What a journey. What a life. And, how well she seems to trust herself in the purest, most sacred, beloved way. Id envy it if I believed that the trust she has in her inner voice was something unattainable to me regarding mine. But? I believe it is, and its my intention to exercise that muscle more. Thats it. Im processing. But first, Im going to sleep. Im tired, emotionally drained, and just need a good rest. XOXO, Nicole
