Today is the first day of Bijay Dashami 2013 (2070 B.S.) is known as Pratipada of Navratri Durga Puja begins with Ghatasthapana or Kalasha Sthapana. On this day the kalasha is filled with holy water which is then covered with cow dung and the grains (maize.wheat,rice,barley etc) are mixed together and sown and on the tenth day the plant is used along with tika. Today goddess durga is requested to bless the family by remaining in the vessel for ten days.
