Today my father Rick Colson spoke in front of over 1,000 people in Boston during the March against Monsanto. He spoke about the negative effects of pesticides on the environment in correlation with my mothers battle with breast cancer. Most people think she passed away due to high amounts of DDT exposure. She was sprayed with DDT in California when she was a little girl. DDT mimics estrogen and can negatively effect anyone. Thanks to Rachel Carson DDT is no longer aloud in the US but is still used in many cultures. I couldnt be more proud of having a father who speaks up for those affected by pesticides and all chemicals in our environment. A father who fights for what he truly believes in despite what others think. He is a person of integrity, truth, and honesty. He is a role model to me in many many ways. I know my mother would be proud of him as well. Way to go dad. Proud of you.
