Today;s Whispers Procedure to select CBI Director changed If the amendment tabled in the Lok Sabha is taken into account there would not be same procedure of the selection of CBI Chief adopted by the previous UPA Government. Now the CBI Chief would be appointed by the high-level panel consisting of the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Chief Justice of Supreme Court or his nominee. In this panel also, Speaker Lok Sabha would decide as to who would represent the LoP. Gujarat cadre IAS officer to succeed Dubey in Dept of Coal If some highly placed sources are to be believed, a Gujarat cadre IAS officer may soon be given to succeed Dr Amrendra Kumar Dubey as Additional Secretary, Dept of Coal. Dubey, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre is likely to move to PMO. Will Tyagi move from MoEF? Whispers in the corridors of power have it that Ajay Tyagi may soon move from MOEF in the next round of posting which is expected soon.
