Today, the Childrens Hospital at Montefiore(CHAM) celebrates the recovery of formerly conjoined twins, Carl and Clarence Aguirre, at a ceremony held at our Moses Campus. #CHAMkids James T. Goodrich, MD, PhD.—the internationally-renowned physician who led the CHAM team that separated the twins—says that in the 10 years since their surgery, the boys developmental advances continue defying the odds of twins who have undergone this type of surgery. The innovative, multidisciplinary and staged surgery approach used by Dr. Goodrich and his team, to separate the boys is now the recommended standard of care, recognized by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the European Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons. The twins are now in seventh grade. Carl loves to play video games, eat ice cream and play with his brother. Clarence has a passion for dancing, singing and reading. mmcny.org/1v2kREY
