Today, the volunteers of the Irving Park Community Food Pantry provided food and other assistance to 359 people in 121 households including 34 people in 9 households who came for the first time. Of this total. 103 were between the ages of 0 and 18 and 41 people were over the age of 65. Our onsite Web SNAP program assisted 2 households with 6 people to apply for SNAP benefits. Our Pet Food Corner, in partnership with the Community Animal Rescue Effort, provided pet food and supplies to 51 households with 54 dogs, 47 cats, 3 birds, 1 rabbit and 1 guinea pig. A representative of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center was on hand to assist clients with Affordable Care Act matters and a volunteer from the Albany Park Neighborhood Council was on hand to to offer on-site voter registration to our clients. Thanks to all who support our efforts and make it possible to help our neighbors in need! Together, we are neighbors helping neighbors.
