Today was an emotionally great day! First, we like to do Wii dance as a transition activity. We found a Justin Bieber (gag) dance that the kids were amazing at today. The emotional part was that 4 boys, who NEVER dance and who have some special needs participated and were engaged and LOVING it. All we could do was watch and tear up at the joy in their participation. THEN, one of our afternoon girls donated 14 1/2 inches of her beautiful long hair for children who have cancer. She did it on her own and was so proud. Unfortunately, I couldnt stay in the room while she told the class (I am a happy teary kind of gal). It was a joyful kind of teary day and THATs what I LOVE about teaching...the little things.
