Today was the final part of this project... the new glass was installed in an antique mirror thats been in our family for generations. This piece was underwater in hurricane sandy and mold got between the silver and the glass. My grandmother had painted this mirror back in the seventies, when that pickled antique finish was trendy. My mother always hated that it was painted, and spoke often that she would like to strip it and refinish it someday. Well thanks to the help of Walter Smack, & a lot of my own elbow grease, we finally got it done. And the final phase of this project couldnt have happened on a better day. Today, my mom would have been 72 years old. Happy birthday in heaven Mom. I know youre looking down right now and smiling.
