Today was the last day at the assisted living and attached memory - TopicsExpress

Today was the last day at the assisted living and attached memory care unit that I work. It has been a learning experience for me in multiple ways. Ive learned the importance of unconditional love and acceptance towards others, and how important it is for the dignity, respect, and happiness of the individuals who happen to have Alzheimers. The elders on the assisted living side, who are venerable and sagacious to the world still, have given me so much perspective and care. I thought I was caring for them but I think they have given me much more in terms of love and care. Additionally, my coworkers have been very kind to me as well, and I stand in their shadow for how caring and dedicated they are to the residence. I am in awe at their ability to work under pressure, work long hours at low pay, and still have the patience and empathy to deliver a quality of care that is exceptionally high. Each one brings a unique part of themselves into the role they fill.
