Today we lay my Uncle Jim (James E. Allen) to rest. He was Dads younger brother. By the time I knew him, he was a full grown man with a new wife, preparing for a grown-up life, but his boyhood antics are legendary in our family. He and Aunt Dot made two excellent contributions to the cousin pool, Donna and Steve. My heart is with them as they move through this life passage, the loss of their father. I hold our family close as we each experience the loss in our own way. Uncle Jim was a kind, sweet, funny, loving man. Despite all the physical difficulties he endured through his life, he always had that sparkle in his eye, the reminder of the rounder lurking just under the surface. Well miss you, Uncle Jim. RIP.
