Today we started packing up the advising folders of the 420+ students that will arrive to campus in about two weeks time. Hard to imagine that just a few months ago we were saying goodbye to our last batch; it seems to soon to be opening are arms to our new ones - but that we will. When you function for a day on the backstage, it is a JOY-full reminder of what all the folks around you do to ensure your day runs like butter. As we labeled, tagged, organized, stacked, sorted, collated, and triple checked their stuff, I could help but think about all the stuff in my life that someone else has labeled, tagged, organized, stacked, sorted, collated, and triple checked so that when I show up it is just done - like when I go to the grocery and the item I need is there, on the shelf, appropriately priced (maybe on sale), and that I have the perfect change to make a quick trip through the check out. Today was one such day. Hoping that paying it forward with OUR labeling, tagging, organizing, stacking, sorting, collating, and triple checking will result in an uber smooth opening week and a start to the school year filled with much expectation and inspiration for great things ahead.
