Todays Lesson....Perspective is in the Eye of the Beholder...( and we all seem to have a second set that actually sees the vision under the surface.) So I know I am at huge risk of boring all of you to death but I think I will pass along the lesson I was given/reminded of today. I was feeling pretty bad ass for not getting too frightened over the mortality question day 3 in the hospital...where the experts have been using their best guess/experience to find out what was causing the low Hemoglobin count. What struck me today is they are really dedicating their energy and time to help other people, because that was the call they were given,AND, it appears they feel as badly about not nailing it as I do about them not nailing it. I have watched a ton of really small kindnesses that arent done out of obligation but out of big hearts. And it seems the small kindnesses are the biggest gifts you can give ... and make the largest difference in someone s situation. Thats perspective is going to stick with me for a while even if the take a while to figure this out. PS: all tests have been passed with flying colors so the first reaction of being thankful for being in good health other than whatever is causing the low blood count is reassuring. Now my real faith will need to hang with with me until these folks come up with the answer, which looks like it will take more looking following my likely discharge in the morning. Not all better but feeling a LOT BETTER.
