Todays adventures in Copper Mountain! Greg, Martin and I started the day by riding the paved bike path down to Frisco for breakfast. Its about 14 miles round trip but made for a good warm up for the day. While in Frisco we stopped by a bike shop and bought waterproof jackets! We picked up Dustin from the condo and then rode up Copper Mountains ski slopes. Theres a service road you can ride all the way to the top--over 12,000 feet elevation at the summit! At the top, the temp dropped again and it started to rain. Out came the new jackets! We stayed warm and dry this time! On the way down, we rode the singletrack, which was AWESOME. All downhill, corners were bermed up, optional jumps and obstacles (dont worry, we played it safe...), it was sweet. It took an hour and 15 minutes to climb the 7 miles up the mountain, and about 30 minutes to come down. Good ride today, even though it was kinda short. Tomorrow, well go back to Leadville and ride another section of the LT100 course.
