Todays encouragement: Here we see one of the major roles of the New Testament church. Paul knows that the Thessalonians are already doing these things, but he reiterates their importance. He points out that they should be teaching Godliness, comforting those in need, supporting one another and that they should have an open door policy. God wants the church to be a spiritual hospital for anyone that needs it. And by the way, we all need it. His desire is that in a world filled with an eye for an eye mentality, the body of believers should stand out, because of their care for everyone. If you take some time and research the origin of most hospitals and relief groups, you will find that most were started by Christians. It is important that we look for ways to help our community and show the love that God has for us to all people. In doing this it may open us up to people that are unappreciative or even perhaps hurtful sometimes. But keep in mind that hurting people many times lash out because the pain or fear that they are feeling can be overwhelming. Lets love them in spite of themselves as Jesus did with us. The only Bible a majority of this world will ever read is the one they see in our lives. If they see that love through us, then they can start to see Gods love for them. Ultimately that is what will bring them to Christ and save their souls. Let God use you today by showing that love to someone who needs it. ♡ 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
