Today’s Bible Verse - Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This, alone, is a tall task. I can muster part of my heart, part of my soul, and part of my mind. But all of it!? Wow. Jesus demands a lot doesn’t He! The amazing thing is, without Jesus in our lives this commandment is impossible. But, once we come to the point of accepting Him and allowing Him to enter fully into our lives, then we begin to learn how incredibly possible this commandment is to fulfill! You see, Christ in us compels us to love God fully, and then, to love our neighbor as our self. So, we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves because Christ is in us and compels us to. We can’t help but live this way. It is evidence of our salvation. Thanks be to God! Pastor Michael Dean
