Tonight I was given a mission that I gladly accepted with open arms!!!!!!! As i was walking from the parking lot to my barracks , there on the ground lay a USMC cover. I walked past it and continued on my way, but the cover spoke to me. something inside me compelled me to turn around, pick it up , and return it to its rightful owner!! I looked on the inside of the cover saw a name i didnt recognize, and Sgt chevrons!! I headed to the barracks in search of this lost marine with no cover. I sought the advice of my elders, first up was my motivated Cpl Roger Ortiz-Martinez, sadly he had no idea who this mystery marine was either. He advised me to put it in fates hand and hand it over to duty , but I wasnt ready to give up hope.I walked the long catwalks of my home, in search of some sign from above. I sought out my peer, KaDesh Doitformyteam Armstrong!! Thankfully he accepted the mission and agreed to help me in this long journey. He looked at the name and concentrated long and hard. At first he had no recollection of the name, but eventually it came to him like a recruit to a drill instructor when being counted down. He knew who this mystery marine was. My heart stopped when I heard this amazing news. We advanced toward his room and banged on the hatch with high anticipation in our hearts. Sadly he wasnt the one to open up, his roommate stared at us blankly. We explained how we had come a long way and traveled near and far in search of this man to return his missing treasure. His roommate simply turned around, and woke him up by throwing the cover at him, and asked him in a very rhetorical manner if he was missing something....This mystery marine simply gazed upon my companion and I, oblivious to the trials and temptations we experienced tonight in pursuit of him. He barely muttered a thanks and went back to sleep. My heart dropped to my chest!! I was broken inside, how could he be so heartless. I headed back to my room, head down, downtrodden, and lost in this life. but as I looked back on my long journey, a smile came to my face because i knew in my heart that I had done the right thing...My only hope is that tomorrow morning as this Cpl gets dressed for work, and grabs his once lost cover, and puts it over his head, he takes a moment to think of those who made the sacrifice to make it possible
