Tonight for the first time, I experienced African Shaking Medicine. I was given a small amount of African earth to hold in my hand while I shook. The earth was powerfully charged from the Grandmothers shaking their medicine upon it. As I poured the earth back into the bottle which holds it, I had an intense urge to eat what was left upon my skin, which is not an opportunity you get everyday...so I did.
