Translations for Internet Noobs: Lol/LOL/lol = Dont take what Im saying seriously. You can say this, but you wont be taken seriously. If you want to be taken seriously, dont say this. I will say this when Im joking around, but if I genuinely want someone to pay attention to me and listen to what Im saying, I definitely wont use this phrase. I dont take people or pages seriously when they say this. I may like your content, but I wont view it as very important. Same goes for emote usage. A smiley face here and there can help convey good will when you dont think your word choice is very explanatory, but multiple emoticons of any type just screams, Im playing around. Theres nothing wrong with this if that is your intention.
