Tricky decision to make. 3 Jaw chuck on the lathe has some play and runout and I am getting tired of working around it for stem work. The question is do I buy a new chuck, the cheapest being about £120 (quality unknown) or do I keep the 3 Jaw I have for unusual jobs and get a ER40 collet system which will handle stock up to 30mm (covers nearly all my stem needs) which is £200 and should have better accuracy. Tough one!
