Tried IFBB Pro Ben Pakulskis MI40 program this morning for chest and biceps, whose whole ethos revolves around time under tension in the muscle and exhausting the muscle at the end of an exercise with neurological overload sets, in other words, a triple drop set. Well, all I can say is that the pump was skin splitting and the pain in the muscles following the workout is immense! There comes a point in ones training where you figure that there must be a lot more to the principles of muscle growth than simply handling progressively heavier weights, although this principle holds true to a large extent, it is certainly NOT the be all and end all of muscle growth and quite often leads to people just heaving and bouncing weights around in sloppy form, which invariably leads to little progress and injury. Ive only experienced one of these workouts, and Im going to give the whole 6 week program a fair trial, and will keep you updated on the results. From what ive read and experienced so far, I thoroughly recommend that you look into this program and training principles if you want to maximise your gains with minimising your risk of injury and, lets face it, who wouldnt want that?
