True Story: I worked extensively with a family who has a child on the Autism Spectrum. When I say extensively its families who have language barriers and learning the journey of advocating for their child. The child at the time had severe Jargon Language and parents struggled to get him services. This was about a year ago. The child has services for a year now through the guidance of SPAN. Well here is the best part of my story.. I had the pleasure to do a home visit with the family yesterday and hear this child recite the Pledge of Allegiance clearly. I couldnt hold back my tears as this was not the same little boy I met last year. It was the most rewarding experience in my years of service with SPAN. This is what its all about!
