Truth Without Sugar Matthew 28:11-15… Well, well, well we have the Pharisees up to their same tricks. After hearing of the miracles of Jesus throughout the land, confronting Jesus and being put in their place as who they really were, after paying someone to do their dirty work out of fear, and being fearful that Jesus would be raised on the third day, placing a guard at the tomb because they really were afraid that Jesus would be raised, (which he was Halleluiah!!!) These guys just can’t get a break. But I must ask you all; can we really get a break from the truth? No way! The truth is an ever present enemy to the ones who do not believe, the deceivers, and the evil minded people of the world, the truth hounds them every single day. Think about it, why do people on the run live life looking over their shoulder? Because the truth is out there! Or should I say in them so that there is no hiding. So now we have the Pharisees who are trying to fool the people but you know what? They are only fooling the unbelievers, deceivers, and the evil minded because anyone who is searching and is truly looking for truth in this world they are the ones who, deep inside, know that Jesus is who He said He was. In verse 13 we have a great example of the thought pattern of someone who is running from the truth. The soldiers told the Pharisees that they were asleep, which would be the death of those soldiers for sleeping at their post, But the Pharisees are telling them to say “The disciples came and stole the body while we were asleep” Really???? These guards were obviously corrupt as well because they bought into a foolish plan and risking their own lives. The bible, specifically Psalm, has plenty to say about the evil ones of the world such as “will they never learn?” But for believers we should be praying as David did “Hear my complaint O God, protect me from the threat of the enemy. Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from that noisy crowd of evildoers” (Psalm 64:1-2), or Proverbs 21:15-16 “When justice is done it brings joy to the righteous but terror to the evil doers. (16) A man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead.” Don’t conspire with the world my friends it only leads to trouble and death. Like · · Promote · Share
