Tuesday, we are going a little out of the suggested teaching order by learning about CHEESE today. We talked about what cheese is, how it is made, how there are LOTS of different types of cheese and ways to use cheese. Recited the interactive rhyme 3 HUNGRY MICE together and did all the accompanying movements. Read the LITTLE THEATRE script STINKY CHEESE together and acted out some of the parts. Identified out letters for this month, C, U & X, their sounds and words with those sounds. Identified written numbers by 10s, 10 to 100 and then some random written numbers from 1 to 100. Worked a little more today on the 1s column and tens column of 2 digit numbers, what they mean and how to use them. Reviewed our shape, triangle, how to spell it , how many sides it has & objects that are triangular in shape. Spelled out our colors BROWN and RED and found things of that color in the house. In art, the kids made a puff ball mouse with a very long tail stealing some cheese from a big slice. Had a CHEESE TASTING. Each child was able to taste a small amount of each of the following cheeses : cheddar, mozzarella, american, bleu, cream cheese, smoked cheddar and a garlic basil flavored romano cheese.
