Q1. Mary this is a fantastic answer which thoroughly lists many of the codes of conduct and policies in place within your organization. You have also highlighted the aims and expectations of these polices and codes of conduct and shown how important it is to implement them in your daily roles. You have also covered this answer in question 6. Great start to Unit 3. Q2. Another great answer Mary. You have provided me with a list of staff members who have the responsibility to ensure equality and diversity is adhered to within your organization. You have given the names of these individuals and outlined their job roles and commitment to E&D. I’m pleased to see you have listed and explained that “all employees” have the responsibility too, as well as partners and the general public. Q3. Linking your answer from q2 you have thoroughly explained what is expected of all members of staff in relation to equality and diversity. You have shown that staff should comply with all policies and procedures and act in a non discriminative manner, treating others fairly and respectfully. Q4. Although your answer is a little brief and you don’t necessary give an overview of questions 1-3 I feel your answers throughout have been comprehensive and certainly go beyond expectations for this level 2 course. Therefore I will pass this answer. Q5. A great answer Mary. This is a detailed account of what is monitored, how it’s done, who by and what happens with the findings. This is a good way to collate data and address any issues. Q6. Mary, it is evident that your organisation takes care to ensure that E&D is promoted suitably internally and externally. You have thoroughly explained the many policies the NHS have in place and that these are accessible to Companies, Stakeholders, Clients, Employees, Patients, Staff, Government and Investors. You have also given mention to the staff contract that is legally bound for all employees to sign. Another example of how the NHS promote could include; posters, online via their website, open days, TV ads etc. Q7. An extensive answer which clearly explains the punishments or sanctions for any breech in the policies / codes of practice / guidelines where equality and diversity are concerned. You have provided a detailed account of the steps taken to deal with any equality and diversity issues. Your answer shows me that the normal procedures would begin with a verbal chat to address the problem, and most issues can be solved independently during the course of the day. However if this wasn’t the case then a disciplinary procedure would occur, and this could be anything from the five stage procedure to written, final warnings and dismissal. Your answer is great and very thorough. Q8. You have explained the advantages of the creation and maintenance of an environment that promotes and ensures equality and diversity. You have shown that staff will have the opportunity to reach their full potential and offer a range of different skills and ideas. In turn this can provide a variety of jobs and the business becomes more competitive within the market. The organization will have a good reputation that investors and stakeholders would want to be part of. Good answer! Q9. You have described the possible consequences of your organization if it fails to maintain a diverse and equal environment. You have noted the legal obligations such as tribunals and financial strains. Economically the organisation could be given a bad repuation which can then lead to conflict within the workplace. Socially; misunderstandings can ‘create an unpleasant work environment without proper mediation. Unresolved conflict can paralyze an organization, keeping it from achieving its goals’. This has been a fantastic Unit 3 assessment Mary. You have provided excellent answers throughout and I am very pleased to advise that subject to internal and external moderation you have met all of the learning outcomes. Well done. Kind Regards Ashley
