Two mile run/walk completed, internet stories that caught my attention finished, and Boston could eliminate Tampa Bay tonight. Still thinking about 60 minutes last night. Deeply moved by Black Hawk Down story. Segment on disability fraud, however, was disturbing. Roughly 25 percent of such payments, as high as 50 percent in some local community economies, are bogus. Moving people from unemployment benefits to disability payments apparently is a very profitable con for some lawyers and doctors. But if some of these individuals cannot find jobs, what are they to do? Apparently the federal government thinks robbing another social program is the answer.
