Two of my fathers favorite songs were How Great Thou Art and Wispering Hope. Beth and I were assigned these songs as our recital pieces. Hearing this floods my mind with memories. Fifty-four years cannot erase the memory of this nine year old child listening to the choir sing these songs at Dads funeral. While the heart strings tug, joy rises as I am honored to have been his child. He loved our mother deeply. He was the kind of man who put family first, loved life, laughed often, and was a child at heart. Dad was the principal of our elementary and high school When the snows fell, Dad would have the high school boys come over, invite the neighborhood children to bring their sleighs, tie them together and have the big kids pull us around the school yard. A song so tugs at the heartstrings yet opens the gates to such beautiful memories. Merry Christmas, EVERYONE!
