Two public lectures on the 1915 Exposition scheduled for next week! Monday, January 26, 2015: The Sausalito Womens Clubs venerable Sherry Hour lecture series. I have attended several of these as an audience member and the venue is terrific--a beautiful Julia Morgan Building. Doors open 6:30pm. I believe the lecture will begin at 7, and Ill have books to sell afterwards. No-host bar and you must RSVP to Susan Gordon, 887-9249 (I believe there is also a modest entry fee, but its not on the website: sausalitowomansclub.org/preservation-2/panama-pacific-international-exposition Lecture #2: Presented by the Marin History Museum Wednesday, 1/28, the Marin History Museum presents my “Whirlwind Tour of the PPIE” at 7pm. (Arrive a bit early for best seating). This event will be held at the Elks Lodge Maple Lawn Estate, 1312 Mission Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901. marinhistory.org/events/ Admission is $10 for non-members of the Marin History Museum. The Elks also have a very reasonably-priced, no-host bar! I will have books available for purchase at each of these events and will be signing them as desired. The cost is $40 + 9.25% CA sales tax, a total of $43.70. Hope to see some of you next week! Otherwise, watch this space for more upcoming lectures in the next few weeks.
