Two years ago, I visited the Dilmah tea plantations in Sri Lanka and learnt about the Seasonal Flush tea. Since then, I look forward to each years the seasonal flush. This phenomenon usually occurs only once per year but this year, due to the El Nino effect, they are expecting two seasons. The Craighead fine silver tips are really special this year. The tea plants have been subjected to such a prolong period of hot days and cold nights that the leaves have developed characteristics which seldom occur in tea plants. Only 12 kg have been harvested which each tea bud gingerly nipped off at the base and carefully handled so that they are not bruised. Very rare treat for tea lovers!
