Typical duties of the position include, but are not limited to: • Assisting in the mixing, peeling, slicing, grinding, blending, measuring, and assembling food in preparation for cooking or serving using the appropriate cutting tools and machines. • Preparing and assisting in the cooking of food items for modified diets according to standard recipes. • Preparing and cooking sauces, soup bases, and gravies, and serving meals and refreshments for catered functions. • Participating in setting up and serving on the tray line. • Operating kitchen equipment such as steam kettles, ovens, broilers, grills, meat slicers, etc. and adjusting thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
