U12 League Final Ballinora 1-8 Carrigaline 2-4 Hard luck to our gallant girls who were very unlucky to lose to a very good Ballinora side by 1 point in what was an excellent game of football on Sunday 9th Nov. In a thrilling game that had a bit of everything, great saves, resolute defending, last ditch tackles, excellent point taking, an expertly taken penalty and some very well finished goals. Both teams displayed a great level of skill and heart in heavy underfoot conditions in what was a great advert for U12 ladies football. Even though we lost our girls deserve great credit for the great display they put up. They fought to the bitter end (as we knew they would) and perhaps with a bit of luck the result may have been different. Over all Ballinora were that bit stronger and deserved their win on which we congratulate them. Unfortunately this was our last competitive game of the year for this age group. Looking back over the year it is great to see the huge improvement in our girls. This was achieved by their hard work and commitment. They can be very proud of themselves for what they achieved. Even though we did not win any silverware it was more a case of it being about the journey and not the destination. The team management would like to thank all the girls for their great commitment, enjoyment and some wonderful memories they gave us during the year and we consider ourselves lucky and privileged to be associated with a great bunch of girls. We would also like to thank all the parents who supported us in many ways and on many days throughout the year. Especially those who helped with transport, disco supervision, supervision on Croke Park trip, baking of cakes ,buns and sandwich making. All these things are much appreciated as without all these things it would be very hard for our club to operate. Michael
