U9 Black result away to Bishop Stortford G&H 5-2, 1-3 We started well and the coaches even gave themselves that knowing look when Oliver set Xander away for a good run to open the scoring. At which point it was decided we didnt need to play any more and got promptly punished by conceding 4 goals with no reply. Second half and a change of midfield saw us battle better but our poor marking at a corner saw BS score a fifth. Samuel defending very well, calm and collected. Then Michael John won the ball in his own half streaked down the wing and scored a good goal. 5-2. Second game saw us slowly turn the tables a few more shots Xander hitting the cross bar then being denied a penalty. Rowan putting in some hard tackles and Isaac and Oliver proving strong. Samuel hit a powerful half volley denied by woodwork again, and Xander shot saved and rebound saved from Rhys. Freddie set Rhys up well for the opener. Jack work tirelessly in midfield. Second half saw Aaron run everything down, Sam and Oli added a good dynamic in midfield, Rhys I between the sticks did a good job for an Injured Rowan. Defence was often out of position and BS capitalised for our error of marking. Samuel then put a good ball through to Isaac to see him open his account for the season as he lobbed a very good keeper. Samuel put some good runs together but missed that final ball and Oliver never lost a ball a good battle between the 2 for MOM. Aaron finally got his reward for his efforts when Isaac set him up for a low drive to finish. 1-3. MOM Oliver (again) never lost the ball, won everything and passed completion was in the 90s. Well done to all.
