UNITARIO, 1007th Lesson, 2014-01-14 / Esperanto claims to have native speakers ! (Part I) Since we have found out now that my posts appear in various threads simultaniously, without my doing, I can now add my experience to the question of native speakers. In the 80-ties there was only talk about one family that could only communicate in Esperanto. Like usual everybody believes such infos, just like catholics believe what the pope says. At this time I was a member of a local Esperanto group and once during fall we organized a picknick. This was always very pleasant and most Esperantists are especially nice people. So we talked about this family that could only communicate in Esperanto and I doubted that this was true. Somebody said to me, why dont you ask them they sit over there. We invited them to join us and to tell their story. They said: They were both students at the nearby university and they met in the mensa and by accident found out that they both could speak fluently Esperanto. So at this day, during their meal they talked Esperanto. Every else in that story is a lie, like most of the Esperanto propaganda. Later on they married, they joined the Esperanto Club I was in, and now they had a son of nine years of age: the mother was (or is) German, so she can talk German, English, French and Esperanto. The father was (or is) Vietnamese. He speaks his mothertongue plus English, German and Esperanto. How could he study in Germany, if he was not fluent in German? - The only special thing was that the parents decided to drop the Vietnamese. Their son learned German and Esperanto from the very beginning. So only the little boy was the sensation, because he had picked it up to speak Esperanto without any problem. 3:)
