UP NEXT!!!! Tangerine Dreams Excerpt: The air was thick and stifling as waves of heat shimmered in the dimly lit room. Shadows danced across the floor, the only illumination coming from the fires burning endlessly around the bubbling lava, encasing the underground prison like a moat. Darkness leaned back in his throne, propping his elbows on the arms and tenting his fingers. He eyed the small goblin before him, smiling when he cowered as their eyes locked. Without breaking their stare he pulled in a lungful of air, the thick cords of his neck muscles tightening and bulging with satisfaction as the smell of fear permeated the air. “Tell me,” he urged, the low, commanding timber of his voice coated with seduction. “What is it you seek?” “I only wish to offer what you desire most.” The words slithered from the goblin’s mouth like the hiss of a serpent. “And what do I desire?” Darkness leaned forward, his red eyes eclipsed by black as his mind flashed to his heart’s desire. Pale pink lips, skin smooth and sweet like peaches dipped in cream, and dark eyes meant to be embraced the night. He’d found her by chance, on one of his ventures above ground in the cover of night. And when he saw her, she ruined all that he’d known. The goblin’s eyes danced with wicked glee as he watched temptation seep into Darkness’s skin like venom, spreading through his veins like a deadly drug and offering the one thing he never thought he’d possess.
