UPDATE: Even if there has been some radio silence...I assure you that Jim and Tim, Terra Dinarica and Pozitivna igra / Positive Play are positively still at it. Its been over 7 months since the floods and although the headlines are gone, the problems are not. But this is a feel good message. As you know, after the emergency response and assessment missions, our volunteer work turned to recovery. Weve helped put 13 families back in their homes, including 6 elderly families. The construction on the playgrounds is, despite long delays, finally coming to a completion. The kindergarten in Domaljevac, the primary school in Samac and Tajan Nature Park in Zavidovici will all have safe areas for the little ones to play outside. We have purchased and delivered new doors, windows, beds, kitchens, stoves, fridges, tiles, and whatever else has been needed to make houses homes again. In return weve made quite a few new friends. Weve teamed up with great people both here and abroad too (thanks Amina Nuhanović!). The assistance, generosity, and confidence so many of you have had in us is humbling. We are grateful for that and for the opportunity to be able to facilitate helping out as many as we can. To be honest, we were thinking it was about time to call it quits and get back to our lives...enter Dubioza kolektiv. These lyrical warriors have generously donated the proceeds of their Sound Clash concert in Zenica to be held on December 20 to aid those affected by the floods. That means, amongst other things, that Rasim and his wife from Zavidovici (in the photo album) will have a warm house to live in before winter settles in. So instead of saying thanks yall, were gonna call this a wrap....were gonna rap with Dubioza and keep spreading the love.
