~ UPDATE ON MARIAs MOM: We found out this AM that Me-Me had a heart attack and stroke. Her speech is more limited, she is pretty much only able to say, Yow & No. She will at times repeat what you say; for instance, if we ask her, Are you hungry, shell say, Hungry. Me-Me is unable to walk, she can stand only long enough to move from bed to chair, but she is completely exhausted and short of breath with that little bit of movement. She gets exhausted and has labored breathing even while trying to eat. There is a great possibility that she has an arterial blockage somewhere. This evening she began to have some complications swallowing her food. Though the docs are trying to find out exactly whats going on with her, because of her weakness, age and medical history, she is not a candidate for surgery, or even a stint. They hope to find a way to make her comfortable. We ended up having to fire her first doc this morning, because he refused to treat her and was sending her home. We had to go as far as filing a grievance with Medicare against the doctor & hospital. We were finally able to find her another heart doc that is treating her with first class care and working hard to find out what exactly is going on with her. She will spend a few more days in the hospital and then hopefully be transferred to a rehab facility to see if she can regain her strength. It is remarkable how she has digressed over the past 48 hours. Thank you for your continued prayers and concern for Me-Me, and Maria and I. Its been a very hard, stressful and emotional day for Maria. I came home from the hospital a little earlier, but Maria is still there. Shes been there since 7:30 this AM.
